Customer profile
Hardy's Haulage began in 1970 when Ross and Elaine Hardy purchased their first truck to cart bulk material from Pottsville, New South Wales. From that single unit, the business expanded along Australia's eastern seaboard and developed capability across specialised dry-bulk and general haulage.
Today, Hardy's operates a modern fleet of 19-metre B-doubles and tri-axle single tippers, supported by facilities at Pottsville, Warwick and Yatala. Its transport services span grains, fertiliser, landscaping supplies, gravel, sugar and meals, with operations extending from northern Queensland through New South Wales and into Victoria.

The opportunity
Bulk freight operations place vehicles and drivers across long distances, varied road environments and demanding schedules. Safe and reliable delivery depends on professional drivers, maintained vehicles, effective fatigue and mass-management systems, and clear information when an event or customer question needs attention.
GPS data can show where a vehicle travelled, but video can add the surrounding context. When a safety event, incident, claim or service question arises, authorised teams benefit from timely access to objective footage that can help establish what occurred and support a fair, evidence-informed response.
The FleetView approach
Hardy's Haulage adopted the transiCAM FleetView Video Telematics platform for equipped vehicles. FleetView brings relevant vehicle video into a centralised operational environment, helping authorised users locate and review footage when it is needed.
The capability complements Hardy's existing TruckSafe and NHVAS frameworks, vehicle maintenance, professional driver practices and GPS visibility. It provides another source of context for incident assessment, driver conversations, customer enquiries, claims support and continuous operational learning.
Existing compliance framework
Hardy's holds TruckSafe accreditation and NHVAS accreditation for Mass Management, Maintenance Management and Basic Fatigue Management. FleetView complements — not replaces — these established compliance practices.
Value for Hardy's Haulage
The following outcomes reflect FleetView's practical role — described without relying on unverified performance statistics.
Existing compliance framework
Relevant footage can add context when a driving or safety event needs to be understood — supporting coaching, feedback and more informed safety conversations.
Clearer fleet visibility
A central platform gives authorised teams a more consistent operational view across equipped vehicles, regardless of where they are operating.
More informed incident review
Video can support a fact-based assessment and help reduce uncertainty about what occurred at the time of a road event or claim.
Better driver conversations
Footage can provide useful context for coaching, feedback and reinforcement of safe operating practices across long-distance routes.
Claims and customer support
Objective footage may help teams respond more efficiently and professionally when an incident, claim or service question arises.
Continuous improvement
Events and recurring themes can inform future training, procedures and risk controls — building on Hardy's established safety culture.
Leadership built over five decades
Hardy's has built its reputation by evolving with customer needs while maintaining a clear focus on safe, compliant and reliable freight. Its published TruckSafe and NHVAS accreditations, maintained fleet and professional driver standards demonstrate that operational discipline is already embedded in the business.
Introducing video telematics reflects the same practical mindset. FleetView is not a replacement for experienced people or established compliance systems. It is a tool that can strengthen the visibility and evidence available to those responsible for safety, service and fleet performance.
"In bulk freight, safe and reliable delivery depends on disciplined people, well-maintained equipment and clear information. FleetView gives our authorised team an additional evidence source when an incident, claim or safety event needs to be understood. It complements our existing compliance and driver-management systems and helps us have more informed conversations, identify learnings and keep improving the way we operate."
